Enjoy!
So I was in a local grocery store looking at the wall of plastic water bottles, juice bottles, soda bottles and I wondered what percentage of those bottles actually were recycled. I try not to buy plastic bottles- but sometimes I don't have a choice. If I buy even one a week that is about 260 bottles every five years- definitely contributing to the problem. So some quick googling pointed me to this statistic:
Bottles by the numbers
Only about 12 percent of "custom" plastic bottles, a category dominated by water, were recycled in 2003, according to industry consultant R.W. Beck, Inc. That's 40 million bottles a day that went into the trash or became litter.
And later in the article there is this statement :
The low water bottle recycling rate also impacts the overall recycling rate of all recyclable plastic containers. That's fallen from 53 percent in 1994 to 19 percent in 2003.
So this article Plastic Bottles Pile Up is actually about the need for better recycling opportunities which I am all for- but what about just buying a reusable container and stepping out of that loop altogether?
I am faaaaaar from a perfect environmentalist- very far- but I am looking to make little changes that will have a big impact over time.
Weather here is so change-on-a-dime but on this day it was cold cold cold then it was cold some more. This sweet little guy was such a trooper- all he wanted to do was explore the sand...
And try to figure out what that crazy lady with the camera was doing..
Isn't mom beautiful?

Even with the super cold weather we got some great images. I am excited to share them with you!
I get an unending supply of cardboard in my business- flat pieces of all sizes. If your school, art classes, drama classes, etc. are in need of cardboard, please let me know. One side is usually clean and the other size usually has writing and packing tape on it.
Thanks!

And doesn't this image just make you want to grin from ear to ear. His smile is so contagious

Thanks for hanging out at the beach!
This little beauty has a quiet and maybe just a little bit shy personality- but wow does her smile light up a room (or the beach as the case may be). And yes mom, I also got a glimpse of her intensity :)- but on this day she was perfect. She is a lovely person and I enjoyed spending time with her.

I love the movement and attitude in this one.
I am excited to share the images from this session with you!

I donated this session as a gift for this family. but really it turned into a gift for me! Meet little A. She loves to dance, and she loooooooves her cars.
Her swing brings her such joy.

And she is very clear about her desires. And most parents reading this are nodding their heads knowing all about kids who are "clear"- but for little A.'s parents even the simple act of being clear about her needs is a huge deal for this kiddo. Miss A is a special kid- in the truest sense of the word.
Isn't she a beauty!

I feel so honored that this family allowed me a peek into their daughters life- it was such a gift for me. Thank you!
