Going Green(er) in 08
January is always busy with preparing for taxes (read- catching up on paperwork that fell behind during the busy season), getting organized for the new year, and of course- there are always lots of beautiful newborns this time of year.
One of the things that I am doing with my business right now is looking for ways that I can go- even GREENER in 08. I am very proud to say that the packing materials that I purchased 5 years ago- sit untouched as I have been able to recycle a ton of packing materials from my various labs. Some other things that I do are….reuse my beautiful presentation boxes once clients no longer need them, I keep a stash of paper that was printed on one side- and we use the back side for notes and scratch paper, I recycle everything that I can, and all of the cardboard that comes in from my lab (and it is a TON!) goes to my DD’s school for Art classes, and for the Drama department. Additionally, this year I will be shipping most of my orders- to reduce my driving/ CO2 footprint (yes, I realize that the FedEx truck will still be generating CO2- but this will make one less vehicle on the road), and I am moving most of my paperwork to PDF’s instead of printed materials.
So here is my challenge for you dear readers…I am looking for ways to go even greener. Please email me with 3-5 (reasonable!) suggestions about how Silveira Photography can go even GREENER in 08. All (reasonable!) suggestions will be entered into a drawing (I will use an online random number generator).
